Who will win the 2010 ANZ Championship - Part Seven
January 8th 2010 22:31
It is unlikely that the New Zealand team, the Canterbury Tactix, can win the 2010 ANZ Championship with half of their team new to the side and the majority of them even new to the competition.
The only notable addition to the Tactix is former Queensland Firebirds captain Peta Stephens.
Hayley Crofts is the only other player to join the Tactix with some experience in the ANZ Championship, but that was only playing for the bottom of the ladder team, the Central Pulse in 2008.
Other new members are all yet to make a name for themselves and include Anna Galvan, Chelsea Pitman, Hannah Poff and Ashleigh Smith.
They have lost quality defender Sonia Mkoloma to the NSW Swifts, Jodi Brown and Kahurangi Waititi to the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, and Larrissa Willcox to the Northern Mystics.
Maree Bowden is the only player worth mentioning that will continue with the Canterbury side this year.
With such big changes, the Tactix will need a few seasons working together as a team, before you could consider them as title contenders.
