Scotland here we come

After 22 years, the Australian netball team will travel to Scotland to play a two-game series in February. The Aussies have won every one of their 13 games against the world number 13, but this year, the games are set to be more competitive with five Australian senior squad members including captain Sharelle McMahon, Julie Corletto, Catherine Cox, Susan Fuhrmann and Lauren Nourse all unable to play.
This is obviously a concern with the Commonwealth Games just around the corner. Four of the five squad members are in rehabilitation. And people reckon netball is not a tough sport!
At least the Australian Netball Diamonds have depth in their bench, allowing the younger Diamonds to step up and get Australia over the line on February 14 and 16.
It is unfortunate that we haven't heard much about these world-class matches considering they are only weeks away. We don't even know if they will be broadcasted on television. If they are, no doubt, it would be similar to other international series played on Channel 10 and One last year where they were broadcasted in the middle of the night. Obviously, this cuts out a lot of the market who would normally watch the games. Most school girls would be in bed way before 11pm, midnight or even after.
When will netball be given a decent go? Although the Diamonds are playing the world number 13, it would be more interesting than Tiger Woods having yet another affair.
