Round 9 Preview: Magic vs Tactix
May 13th 2010 10:56
The second placed Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic will come up against the Canterbury Tactix this Saturday, however, the game won't be broadcasted in Australia until Sunday since One HD has given a preference to AFL and Jessica Watson. Once again netball is discriminated against in this country.
The ANZ Championship is so hotly contested that, with only six rounds to go, eight out of the 10 teams can still make the top four. There's only three wins separating first place and seventh.
The Magic who only beat the bottom-of-the-ladder team, the Central Pulse last weekend by 12 goals, will need an improved effort to beat the Tactix.
However, news today confirmed that the Magic's new Australian import, Peta Scholz, who has played a vital part in their midcourt, will be out for the rest of the season with the knee injury sustained during the Pulse clash.
The Tactix have struggled this season with only one win on the board, but with nothing to lose, they will throw everything at the Magic.
The Magic should still be able to take the win, if not, the fight for second, third, and fourth spot will become even more interesting.
