Round 8 Result: Mystics keep their top four hopes alive

The Northern Mystics kept their composure and intensity right throughout their battle with the Southern Steel in Invercargill tonight, taking the match 52-49.
The Mystics needed the win to keep their top four hopes alive. There is now a fierce competition for fourth spot with the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Queensland Firebirds, the Steel and the Mystics all on eight points.
The Mystics won the first half and then Steel took out the second half but in the end the impressive shooting accuracy of Cathrine Latu and Maria Tutaia got them over the line.
Injected into the game at half-time, Julianna Naoupu made a huge impact for the Steel but there just wasn't enough time for her team to take the win.
The Mystics are up against the Central Pulse next weekend and the Steel have the bye.
