Round 8 Preview: Magic vs Pulse
May 4th 2010 05:51
The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic will be looking for a huge match at home against the Central Pulse this Saturday.
As we now go into the second half of the home/away season draw, each goal becomes even more vital.
The Magic are sitting in second place on the ANZ Championship ladder, on equal points as the Melbourne Vixens, so therefore the Magic would like a huge win over the winless Pulse to keep this position on the ladder.
Come finals time, the top two teams have two chances to make the grand final and the Magic missed out last year after being the 2008 runner-up.
Interestingly, at this stage, the top four teams, the NSW Swifts, Magic, Vixens and the Adelaide Thunderbirds, are the same as 2008.
Once again, it seems the battle for fourth position is between the Thunderbirds, the Queensland Firebirds, and the Southern Steel - all on eight points.
The Magic should definitely beat the Pulse easily with the Pulse struggling even more so this year. They have been last placed in both years of the ANZ Championship.
