May 3rd 2010 13:25
The Australian sides kept up the exciting momentum of Monday night netty with a close encounter between the Queensland Firebirds and the West Coast Fever.
Although the Firebirds had control of the match from the start despite finishing 16-all at the first break, the Fever was always in contention.
In the end the in-form Firebirds were just too good for the Fever side, winning 63-57 in Brisbane.
Romelda Aiken shot 36 from 39 attempts whereas on the other end of the court Caitlin Bassett added 50 goals to her team's tally.
The Firebirds have a bye next weekend and the Fever will now prepare to take on the Melbourne Vixens.
It was great to have Australian Netball Diamonds captain and Melbourne Vixens co-captain Sharelle McMahon in commentary in this match. However, McMahon didn't make much comment about the recent shocking form of the Vixens.
