Round 5 Preview: Vixens vs Mystics
April 16th 2010 05:30
Hosts, the Melbourne Vixens, should be able to beat the Northern Mystics on Monday night.
Injured defender Julie Corletto, who couldn't travel to New Zealand last week in the Vixens game against Tactix, trained yesterday and should be right to play on Monday night.
However, there is still a question mark over whether Chelsey Nash and Natasha Chokljat can play this week. A decision is expected to be made tomorrow.
But the Vixens showed the depth of their bench last week against the Tactix, beating them by 15 goals.
Led by co-captains Sharelle McMahon and Bianca Chatfield, the Vixens are hoping to make back-to-back premierships, and after a disappointing start to the ANZ Championship in its inaugural year, they know all too well how they need to be on their game for every game of the season to be a premiership contender.
The Mystics are coming off a 17 goal loss to the Queensland Firebirds, who scored their first win of the season last weekend.
They will be hoping for redemption but I think the Vixens are too good for the Mystics to defeat.
