April 10th 2010 09:19
As expected the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic defeated the West Coast Fever in a close match today.
Fever started well but were unable to keep the momentum going in the second half, allowing Magic to take the win 55-50.
The match-up between Magic's Irene van Dyk, with a 98 per cent shooting success rate, and West Coast Fever's Susan Fuhrmann proved to be the main fight within the game.
In the first half, when Fever were leading, Fuhrmann had the upper hand against van Dyk but in the second half Fuhrmann was tiring allowing van Dyk to get into the game more.
Other standout players included Magic captain Laura Langman and defender Casey Williams.
