Round 3 Result: Thunderbirds get their first win of the season
April 4th 2010 08:30
Both the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the Queensland Firebirds were desperate to get their first points on the board for the season and this showed with the close match in Brisbane today.
With errors from both teams, it was anyone's game, but Firebirds shooter Romelda Aiken missed crucial shots, leaving the Thunderbirds to take the win 41-40.
Shooter Carla Borrego and centre Natalie von Bertouch had fine games for the Thunderbirds.
The Firebirds are now left wondering if they have any hope of finals chances, with three losses in three rounds.
The run doesn't get any easier for them, coming up against the Northern Mystics next weekend, then the Southern Steel in Invercargill
and then the Melbourne Vixens.
