Round 3 Result: Swifts win in first extra time match in 2010

April 5th 2010 03:00
NSW Swifts won a blockbuster of a match against the Canterbury Tactix in extra time yesterday, the first extra time game of the 2010 season.
The match see-sawed right throughout the game but the experience of the Swifts got them over the line in the 74-minute match.
At the full time whistle Swifts captain and shooter Catherine Cox was benched after some poor shooting statistics.
Cox's success rate was a lousy 58 per cent. She was replaced with Amy Wild who shot four from six.
Swifts won the match 56-53 and will now be waiting on the result of the Fever/Vixens game tonight to see who gains the number one spot at the end of round three.

If Fever wins, Swifts will be outright leaders, but if Vixens will, it will depend on the winning margin, but it's more likely that the Melbourne team will continue their first spot on the ladder.
