Round 3 Preview: Mystics vs Magic
March 30th 2010 08:48
The Mystics vs Magic game on Saturday should be a real nail-biter. Magic showed some of their form in the dying minutes of their game against the Southern Steel last night. Steel were leading the match until the last quarter when Magic hit back and won their first game of the season 47-41.
Mystics, on the other hand, have improved dramatically since last year, attracting some big-name players.
Mystics are in second place at the moment, just behind the Melbourne Vixens, last year's premiers.
Players like Cathrine Latu, Joline Henry, Temepara George, Maria Tutaia, Jenny May Coffin, Althea Byfield and Larrissa Willcox need to be on their game for the Mystics to take the win against Magic.
Henry and Tutaia will be playing their former team, Magic, for the first time this weekend.
Despite these huge losses, Magic have been able to retain one of the world's best shooters Irene van Dyk, top defender Casey Williams, midcourter Laura Langman, Frances Solia, and Jodi Tod.
New Magic players Jodi Brown and Peta Scholz put in a solid performance last night against Steel and will need to back this up again this Saturday against the Mystics.
This should be the game of the round.
