Round 3 Preview: Firebirds vs Thunderbirds
March 31st 2010 09:21
This Sunday's Queensland Firebirds vs Adelaide Thunderbirds game should be another nail-biter. Both teams would be desperate to get their first win of the season as three straight losses could be the difference between making the top four or missing out on finals' chances at the end of the season.
Both teams have undergone some major changes during the off-season with both attacking sides struggling to come up with a winning combination. I think this will be the area that will decide who comes away with the win this weekend.
The Queensland Firebirds recruited former Thunderbirds goal attack Natalie Medhurst who has performed under expectations with goal shooter Romelda Aiken.
In the Thunderbirds shooting circle are new recruit Carla Borrego taking the goal shooter bib and Kate Beveridge who is really struggling with the positional change to goal attack.
Thunderbirds key mid-court player Jo Sutton was ruled out of the season prior to last weekend's game.
With the home game advantage, I think the Firebirds will take the win in a close match.
