Round 2 Result: Magic score their first win
March 29th 2010 13:32
The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic got their first points on the board tonight, defeating Southern Steel 47-41.
Steel looked like they had hold of the match until Magic stepped up to the occasion in the final quarter and showed viewers the quality netball they are very capable of playing.
Steel lost talented shooter Daneka Wipiiti to a knee injury sustained in the last minutes of their match against West Coast Fever last week. This was a major blow for Steel before they even stepped out onto the court.
The best players on court for the Magic were Australian Peta Scholtz and Casey Williams.
