Round 13 Result: Mystics' finals campaign over
June 14th 2010 13:30
A determined Southern Steel side tonight put an end to the Northern Mystics' hopes of making their first ever finals series.
Although only seven goals finally dividing these two New Zealand teams, the Steel had control of the match for the whole 60 minutes.
They were extremely impressive by restricting Mystics shooter Cathrine Latu to only 17 goals for the entire game. Latu is normally the target shooter with very impressive statistics.
The Steel sit in third position, ahead of the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic on percentage, but have a tough final round match against the NSW Swifts next weekend. The Magic also have a tough encounter, up against the second-placed Adelaide Thunderbirds.
The Mystics played exceptionally well in the dying minutes of tonight's game but left their run too late. The final score was Steel 50 Mystics 43.
