Round 13 Result: Magic just able to defeat the Pulse
June 12th 2010 10:13
The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic is considered New Zealand's best team whereas the Central Pulse has only been able to win two games in three years of the ANZ Championship.
Yet there were only six goals separating these two teams today. It was an absolute blockbuster for three quarters of the game with either team able to take the two points. The Magic was lucky that the Pulse is unable to play for 60 minutes otherwise there could have been a real upset and Magic might have kissed their finals chances away.
The Magic are in real trouble, coming up against the Adelaide Thunderbirds next weekend. They had three straight losses coming into this afternoon's game and were lucky to come away with the win.
This may be the first year the Magic aren't in the top four. All will be revealed next week.
Irene van Dyk was once again impressive with a 98 per cent conversion rate in the 58-52 win.
