Round 11 Result: Thunderbirds may contest top two position
May 30th 2010 11:02
With the Adelaide Thunderbirds' big win over the Canterbury Tactix this afternoon and the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic's surprise loss to the Southern Steel last weekend, both the Thunderbirds and the Magic have equal points and sitting second and third respectively.
The Magic will have a tough match tomorrow night against the Queensland Firebirds.
There's a lot on the line as the top two teams have two chances of making the grand final.
The Tactix came out blaring today, staying with the Adelaide side for the first half. But a third quarter blow-out cemeted the win for the Thunderbirds. The final score was 58-34.
The win came with a massive blow to the Thunderbirds with the best shooter in the competition, Carla Borrego, leaving the court injured. With only three rounds to go before the finals series, it will be hard for the Thunderbirds to win without Borrego.
Stay tuned to hear whether Borrego will be able to play next week and if not when they expect she will take to the court.
