Round 11 Preview: Fever vs Pulse
May 28th 2010 12:18
The West Coast Fever vs the Central Pulse match can be likened to tonight's NRL game between the Dragons and Parramatta Eels; a one-sided affair.
For the first time this season, the Monday night game will be broadcasted live between 7pm and 9pm instead of the late timeslot of 8.30pm to 10.30pm. This is the time that the ANZ Championship matches were played last year.
The Fever are coming off a nine-goal loss to the undefeated NSW Swifts while the Central Pulse will be still on a high after scoring their first win this season last weekend when they defeated the Canterbury Tactix.
In 2008 when these two teams met in Perth, the game was abandoned at half-time as rain leaked through the roof of Challenge Stadium and it was deemed too dangerous for play to continue.
Let's hope it doesn't happen again. It's a long trip for the Pulse who have decided to fly to Queensland after the Fever game in readiness for their clash with the Queensland Firebirds the following Saturday.
The Fever have had a disappointing season and will be hoping for a big win against the bottom-placed Pulse team.
At least the game will be more competitive than the Dragons/Eels clash tonight in NRL where the Dragons kept the Eels scoreless for the entire 80 minutes.
