Delayed broadcast of Swifts/Tactix blockbuster hits a nerve
April 5th 2010 03:15
The Swifts/Tactix extra time game was played in New Zealand yesterday but wasn't broadcasted in Australia until this morning, and only after another delay.
Scheduled for 8am this morning on Channel ONE, all of a sudden, without any advertising it was push back to 10am. Instead ONE televised a repeat of the Firebirds/Thunderbirds game from yesterday in the 8am timeslot.
With the news already broadcasting the result of the Swifts/Tactix game, it was extremely disappointing to have such a brilliant, close match played on t.v. at such a long time after the game was played.
Early on the week, it was scheduled for a 10am start and then re-advertised for the 8am timeslot, and then pushed back to 10am. Why?
At least, though, we finally got to see the game. What does it mean though for the final two games of the round scheduled tonight, are they now going to be pushed back two hours? If so, this means another closely contested match, the West Coast Fever and the Melbourne Vixens will be broadcasted at 10.30pm to 12.30am. Surely, ONE wouldn't be that stupid.
Otherwise what program will no longer be televised? Please not the ANZ Championship.
