Countdown to the 2010 ANZ Championship season!
March 17th 2010 07:11
With only days to go until the start of the 2010 ANZ Championship season, it will be very hard to tip the winning teams of each match. As scores get closer as the championship gets older, and with so many changes to team line-ups, the 2010 season is sure to be exciting and extremely hard to predict.
As new teams take the court, there is also two new rules added to this year's championship. They include coaching to be permitted from the sidelines during stoppages and a countdown clock will show the final 60 seconds of every quarter of every match. No doubt these new rules will add to the intensity of games in the ANZ Championship.
The Melbourne Vixens will also be presented with the 2009 Premiership Flag before they take the court against the Magic on Monday night. This is also new to the competition.
Players will no doubt have selection for this year's Commonwealth Games at the back of their minds as they play in the ANZ Championship.
The first game of the season will be Mystics, who has had the most dramatic transformation, against the Adelaide Thunderbirds who have lost Goal Attack Natalie Medhurst to the Queensland Firebirds. This game will be broadcasted on One at 4pm on Saturday.
