Australia wins Rivalry Round again!
April 12th 2010 12:56
Two years running and Australia has won the Rivalry Round against New Zealand in the ANZ Championship.
With it coming down to the wire last year, the Melbourne Vixens' defeat of the Canterbury Tactix, just got Australia over the line.
It was a different story this year with the Vixens' big win over the Tactix, giving Australia a huge 46 goal buffer coming into the last game of the round.
The Queensland Firebirds then cemented the win by a big defeat of 17 goals over the Northern Mystics.
The NSW Swifts also had a big win this weekend, beating the Central Pulse by 14 goals, as did the Adelaide Thunderbirds with their 17-goal win over the Southern Steel.
The only Australian team to lose to New Zealand in this year's Rivalry Round was the West Coast Fever who went down by five goals to Magic.
I keep telling my friend, who is a huge Fever fan, that they just don't cut it in this quality championship!
He's probably too much of a loser to even respond to this post!
